June 7th, 2021, Oakland, Calif. — TMC Community Capital (TMC CC) is excited to welcome our new Business Development Officer, Mayra Contreras, to the team. Contreras brings a wealth of experience in community development, with over 14 years of experience in the financial services space and six years in microlending. 

Mayra joins TMC CC from Opportunity Fund, one of the largest microlenders in the United States, where she served as a Community Development Officer. There, she fostered relationships with community partners across California.  

Ms. Contreras is bilingual in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs across the state. At TMC CC, she is looking forward to leading the development of new partnerships to support low-income and BIPOC entrepreneurs in getting the capital they need to grow their small businesses.
