TMC Community Capital’s ‘Run Your Business 5k’ Brings Community, Culture, and Financial Fitness to San Jose

San Jose, CA — Following a successful debut in Los Angeles, Run Your Business 5K is heading to the Bay Area, bringing its community-centered running series to San Jose on Saturday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Grand Century Mall in Little Saigon. Presented by Wells Fargo, the free event invites residents to experience a morning where movement, local businesses, and community come together in celebration of the people who power San Jose's neighborhoods.

The event celebrates a broader collaboration between Wells Fargo and TMC Community Capital to expand economic opportunity for California's small businesses. Launched with $700,000 in funding provided through two grants from Wells Fargo & Company, TMC Community Capital’s new world stage-ready, forgivable loan program helps entrepreneurs prepare for the surge of tourism and economic activity expected as California hosts major global events. By financing critical needs like staffing, inventory, compliance, and operational improvements, the program is designed to ensure neighborhood businesses are ready to participate in the opportunities arriving in their own communities. Wells Fargo representatives will be on-site connecting with entrepreneurs and sharing information about available small business resources, while TMC Community Capital introduces the new World Stage Ready Forgivable Loan Program to local neighborhood businesses as they prepare for opportunities ahead.

Run Your Business 5K is designed to connect residents with the entrepreneurs, organizations, and leaders investing in their community every day. Throughout the event, attendees will discover local vendors, resource organizations, and business support services that continue making an impact long after the finish line. Several participating vendors have also received support through TMC Community Capital's World Stage Ready Forgivable Loan Program, demonstrating how strategic investment can help local businesses prepare for new opportunities. Whether participants choose to run, walk, or simply enjoy the festivities, the event is built around one idea: when communities show up for one another, everyone moves forward.

The celebration will feature music from Bay Area favorite DJ Salenie, whose performances have energized some of the region's biggest stages, while legendary radio personality Chuy Gomez will serve as host for the day. At 9:30 a.m., attendees are invited to gather for a special speaking program featuring San Jose Councilmember Bien Doan, community leaders, and partners who will share remarks on the importance of supporting local businesses and building stronger neighborhoods together. Together, the day's programming creates an experience that feels distinctly San Jose, blending culture, music, entrepreneurship, and community into one shared celebration. Run Your Business is free and open to the public, with advance registration encouraged rybsj26.eventbrite.com
